Learn how to prepare and submit your job applications on GoAusbildung to maximize your chances of success.
Overview
When you find an Ausbildung position that matches your interests and qualifications, you can apply using the "Jetzt bewerben" button on the job details page. GoAusbildung makes it easy to apply with your saved materials, or you may be directed to complete your application on the employer's website.
For applications submitted through GoAusbildung, you can include your CV, a motivation statement, and optional materials like a cover letter and video introduction. Once submitted, employers receive your application immediately, and you can track its status in your dashboard.
Prerequisites: Before You Apply
Before submitting applications, make sure you have:

Complete Profile: Fill out your profile with accurate information about your education, experience, and language skills.

Updated CV: Create or upload your CV in the CV Builder or Documents section.

Cover Letter (Optional): Prepare a cover letter using our Cover Letter Generator or write your own.

Video Introduction (Optional, Recommended): Record a professional video introduction in the Video Studio to stand out from other applicants.
Having these materials ready will make the application process quick and seamless.
Step 1: Finding the Right Job

Navigate to the Jobs page in your dashboard.

Browse available Ausbildung positions or use filters to narrow your search by:
- Location (city, state)
- Sector (e.g., Healthcare, IT, Engineering)
- Start date
- Language requirements

Click on a job posting to view full details including:
- Job description and responsibilities
- Required qualifications
- Company information
- Salary and benefits
- Application deadline

When you find a position you're interested in, click the "Jetzt bewerben" (Apply Now) button to start your application.
Optional: If you want to see the full original job posting on the company's website, click the "Firmenwebseite" button. This opens the employer's career page in a new tab where you can view additional details about the position.
Step 2: Preparing Your Application Materials
Required Materials
CV (Required)
- Select from your uploaded documents in the CV picker
- Your CV must be up-to-date and professional
- Accepted formats: PDF, DOC, DOCX
- Maximum file size: 5MB
Motivation Text (Required)
- Explain why you want this specific Ausbildung position
- Minimum 50 characters, maximum 1000 characters
- Write in German or English (German preferred)
- Be specific about why this role and company interest you
Optional Materials
Cover Letter
- Select from previously saved cover letters
- Upload a new cover letter document
- Or write one directly in the application form
- Professional formatting recommended
Video Introduction
- Record or select a video from your Video Studio
- Videos with AI quality scores above 70/100 are recommended
- Keep it professional, concise (1-3 minutes), and engaging
- Videos significantly increase your chances of getting noticed

- Language certificates (e.g., Goethe-Zertifikat, TestDaF)

Step 3: Submitting Your Application
The application process uses a step-by-step wizard:
Tab 1: CV Selection
- Browse your uploaded CVs
- Click on your preferred CV to select it
- See a preview of the selected document
- Click "Next" to continue
Tab 2: Cover Letter (Optional)
You have two options:
- Option A: Select a saved cover letter from your documents
- Option B: Write or paste your cover letter directly in the text field
Click "Next" to continue.
Tab 3: Video Introduction (Optional)
- Browse videos from your Video Studio
- View AI quality scores for each video
- Select your best video introduction
- Preview it before submitting
Click "Next" to continue.
Tab 4: Motivation Text
- Write 50-1000 characters explaining why you want this position
- Be authentic and specific
- The character counter shows your progress (turns green at 50+ characters)
- Review your text for grammar and clarity
Click "Next" to continue.
Tab 5: Review & Submit

Review all your selected materials:
- CV (with filename)
- Cover letter (if provided)
- Video introduction (with quality score if applicable)
- Motivation text (with character count)

Check for the green checkmarks indicating completed sections

Click "Submit Application" to send your application
Step 4: After Submission
Confirmation
- You'll see a success message confirming your application was submitted
- You'll receive an email confirmation at your registered email address
- The employer receives an immediate notification about your application

Troubleshooting
"You have already applied to this job"
Issue: You cannot submit multiple applications for the same position.
Solution: Check your applications page to view your previous submission. If you need to update your application, contact support.
CV or Document Upload Errors
Issue: Document fails to upload or isn't showing in the picker.
Solution:
- Go to Documents to upload your CV first
- Ensure file size is under 5MB
- Use accepted formats: PDF, DOC, DOCX
- Refresh the application modal after uploading
"Motivation text too short" Error
Issue: You can't submit because your motivation text is under 50 characters.
Solution: Write at least 50 characters (about 2-3 sentences) explaining why you want the position. Quality matters more than length.
Application Not Appearing in "My Applications"
Issue: Submitted application doesn't show in your dashboard.
Solution:
- Refresh the page
- Check if you received a confirmation email
- Wait 1-2 minutes for the system to process
- If still missing after 5 minutes, contact support
Video Won't Load in Picker
Issue: Video introduction not appearing in the selection modal.
Solution:
- Ensure the video upload completed successfully in Video Studio
- Check that the video processing is finished (status should be "completed")
- Wait for AI analysis to complete
- Try refreshing the application modal
