Retail Management Training Programme for School Leavers

Action's programme combines initial and advanced training for future retail managers. In three years, you gain three IHK qualifications: retail sales specialist, advanced retail management specialist and trainer certification. You move through roles from sales to store management and learn retail, organisational and leadership tasks.

• Start with sales tasks such as stocking shelves, maintaining stock, operating the checkout and advising customers.
• Gradually learn management tasks such as product displays and seasonal changes, orders, returns, cash reconciliation and stocktaking.
• Then take on staff scheduling and management, as employees are at the heart of Action.
• In your third year, take part in projects such as new store openings, store reviews with regional management or helping organise applicant days.

• A general university entrance qualification, or a Fachabitur with proof of internships as required by the IHK
• Interest in leadership and responsibility for a store
