Nursing Competence Centre (1 year)

A low-threshold one-year entry programme from apm for people interested in nursing who face barriers to vocational training, especially people with a refugee background. The programme supports entry into nursing training and teaches nursing, language, and school fundamentals.

Theoretical nursing instruction leading to a care assistant qualification under Section 53b of the German Social Code XI; job-specific German instruction from A2 to B1; preparation for the Grade 9 lower-secondary school-leaving examination; initial practical placements in care facilities and/or outpatient services.

Physical and medical suitability for employment in nursing; sufficient language skills at approximately A2 level, with no certificate required; around nine years of schooling desirable; empathy, enjoyment of working with people, interest in nursing, medical, and social tasks, and team skills.

Low-threshold entry into nursing; joining is possible even after the course has started; financial support may be available through the Employment Agency or Jobcentre; opportunity to continue with assistant or nursing helper training.
