Customs Declarant

Gerlach Zolldienste GmbH is the leading neutral provider of customs services in Europe, with 170 offices in 27 European countries. A results-oriented Customs Declarant (m/f/d) is wanted for the team in Waidhaus, permanent and full-time.

• You are responsible for the operational handling of customs procedures in import, export and shipping in the customs system Zabis Atlas, ensuring compliance with all relevant control and legal regulations
• You check, control and manage customer orders and ensure correct entry and processing in the shipment system FastLogistics
• As the central interface, you coordinate communication between customers, production, logistics and customs and ensure a smooth flow of information
• You obtain clearance instructions from our customers and ensure customs processes are completed fully and on time
• You also create simple preference documents to standard requirements, handle tariff classification according to customer specifications and ensure compliance with all customs and foreign trade regulations, guidelines and instructions
• You carry out general order-related tasks, maintain customer data, monitor the completeness of original documents and ensure proper documentation of all relevant processes
• Ensuring high-quality, legally compliant and customer-oriented order processing rounds off your role

• Successfully completed degree in customs, business administration or a comparable qualification with relevant practical experience
• Solid professional experience and very good knowledge of customs and foreign trade law as well as excise taxes, fiscal representation, Intrastat and VAT reporting procedures
• Strong organizational skills and an independent, structured and careful way of working
• High analytical skills combined with a solution-oriented approach and the ability to assess even complex matters reliably
• High resilience, reliability and sense of responsibility as well as strong teamwork skills
• Strong communication skills and fluent German and English, spoken and written
• Confident use of relevant IT applications and a strong service and customer focus round off the profile
