• You complete a retail apprenticeship in the first 1.5 years, followed by 1.5 years of further training as a trade and commerce specialist (Bachelor Professional of Trade and Commerce). You also gain a trainer qualification.
• You take responsibility for the flow of goods from ordering to sale and for customers' shopping experience.
• You develop leadership skills and take responsibility for a product department, staff scheduling and stocktaking.
• You help review business figures, such as store sales.
• You receive at least €1,350 gross per month for the first six months, at least €1,500 gross per month from months 7 to 18, and pay above the agreed pay scale from month 19. You also receive holiday and Christmas payments and 6 weeks of holiday per year.
• You earn 3 qualifications in 3 years. Accommodation and meals during your classroom training at an external training centre are paid for.
• After passing your final exam, you have very good chances of being offered a permanent role, potentially leading your own product department if you perform well. You also receive a bonus for completing your apprenticeship with good results.
• A trainer supports you, and you receive thorough exam preparation covering practical work and theory.
• You can take part in events and competitions such as fitfortrade and receive discounts on fitness, leisure activities and the Deutschland-Ticket.
• Pay, holiday payments and Christmas payments follow the applicable agreed pay scale.
