Mining Trainee Program

After a short, intensive introduction phase at the Kassel site, you start directly in at least two practical assignments at different mine sites of the K+S Group in Germany. Each assignment lasts at least six months and lets you take on responsible tasks early, such as supervision in underground mining extraction.

• Insight into underground extraction processes: you get to know machines, plants and mining infrastructure
• Working underground: supporting supervision and, where applicable, independently leading staff
• Safety first: introduction to safety equipment and consistent application of all occupational safety measures
• Applying and expanding your expertise: e.g. in geology, extraction cycle or stability assurance.
• Teamwork in mine operations: close cooperation with all departments for a full overview of operational processes
• Independent project work: you work on concrete problems in ongoing operations
• Mine management up close: in an assignment of about 12 months you get to know the work in the staff department and support our mine operations assistants and mine management engineers

• Degree: relevant field in mining or related degree programs
• Passion for mining
• Structured, goal-oriented and independent work in a team
• Flexibility, resilience and service orientation with good communication skills
• Very good German skills, spoken and written (at least level B2 is required)
