Vocational training as a track builder involving shift work, including nights and weekends, as well as assignments away from home. Track measurement and daily construction reports are documented on a tablet.

• Measure track position, longitudinal and transverse gradients, and cant; identify deviations and make corrections.
• Replace sleepers and rails, lift and tamp tracks, compact ballast beds, and set cant and track gauge.
• Operate handheld railway tools and track construction machinery.
• Secure railway work sites and follow work-possession and safety plans.
• Work shifts, assignments away from home, nights and weekends.

• Intermediate secondary school certificate, confident arithmetic and geometry skills, and spatial awareness.
• Practical experience using hand tools and machinery.
• Careful work in railway areas and safe use of safety rules, radio communication and hand signals.
• Teamwork skills and willingness to work nights, weekends, on assignments away from home and while travelling.
• German at least at B2 level; Category B driving licence desirable.
