Dual Study Programme in Retail Management, Bachelor of Arts

Dual study programme in retail management with direct practical application of theoretical knowledge. You work five days a week in different shifts during store opening hours and attend one of six partner universities in block periods. The options are DHBW Mannheim, DHBW Heidenheim, DHBW Stuttgart, DHBW Heilbronn, DHGE Eisenach and HWR Berlin.

You build retail knowledge in sales, product ranges and processes, advise customers in stores and handle digital customer enquiries. You support department managers with daily tasks, contribute your own ideas, work independently and coordinate closely with store management. You also gain experience through practical projects.

You will have successfully completed your advanced technical college entrance qualification or Abitur by the start of your studies. You are open, committed, confident in communication and enjoy working in a team. You take on responsibility and are assertive and ambitious. You are mobile and flexible for assignments at different stores in your region. You are enthusiastic about retail and ideally have initial experience through a part-time job or internship.

Graduated remuneration of EUR 1,400 in the first year, EUR 1,800 in the second year and EUR 1,950 in the third year, plus a pro-rated holiday and Christmas bonus. OBI covers the tuition fees in full. A mobility bonus of up to EUR 30 net per month, six weeks of annual leave, a personal buddy, extensive further training and soft skills training, increasing responsibility and management duties, a 15% discount at OBI, a discounted company bike and the opportunity to take part in practical projects such as the trainee project week or trainee market.
