Internship in Materials Testing and Failure Analysis of Plastic Parts

Six-month internship at Schaeffler in Schweinfurt starting on 1 March 2027. You will support the Polymer Materials department with materials testing, analysis, microscopic examinations and the further development of test methods.

• Support materials testing using standard test methods for plastics and elastomers
• Help carry out chemical and thermal materials analyses according to test specifications
• Help examine damaged parts using light and scanning electron microscopes
• Help prepare test samples according to the methods used
• Help develop test methods for specific analyses, verify how reliably they provide results and document the methods as specifications for Schaeffler worldwide
• Support specialists in the Polymer Materials department in preparing investigation reports

• Proof of university enrolment during the internship
• Studies in plastics engineering, materials engineering, chemical engineering specialising in polymer technology, mechanical engineering specialising in materials engineering, or a comparable subject
• Experience working on projects, such as coursework or university projects
• Good spoken and written German and English
• Confident use of MS Office
• Ability to work in a team and independently
