About this Apprenticeship

Welcome to Stadt Erlangen! This Ausbildung as an Elektroniker*in für Betriebstechnik takes place in Erlangen, Bavaria. The Ausbildung duration is 42 months. The monthly Ausbildung compensation starts at 1,218€ in the first year and increases to 1,378€ in the last Ausbildung year. Start your career in the technical field and develop valuable skills for your professional future.

What You'll Learn

As an Elektroniker*in für Betriebstechnik, you assemble systems and plants for power supply technology, measurement, control, and regulation technology, communication technology, signaling technology, as well as drive and lighting technology, commission them, and maintain them. In addition to the classic work area of power and heavy current technology, Elektroniker*innen für Betriebstechnik are active in the field of automation, process control, and building system technology.

Additionally, during your Ausbildung, you will be trained in various other areas of responsibility, such as sensor technology, control technology, drive technology, or the documentation of your work processes. You support your colleagues in programming, configuring, and testing systems and safety devices. If a malfunction or error message occurs in a system, you search for the cause of the problem. You then take immediate measures, analyze the causes, and eliminate the malfunction.

For example, you learn how to read circuit diagrams and can then apply this knowledge in practice when installing your own circuits. The installation of all kinds of components and systems around the sewage treatment plant, pumping stations, and collection basins will also be part of your practical tasks. In addition to installation, the maintenance and upkeep of machines and systems is also an important area of responsibility as an Elektroniker*in für Betriebstechnik, which you will be introduced to during your practical Ausbildung. During your theoretical Ausbildung, you will also delve into areas of IT that will then enable you to program and configure control units in practice.

During your practical Ausbildung, you will be supervised by competent Ausbilder*innen who will give you an insight into the various tasks and the daily life as an Elektroniker*in für Betriebstechnik and will gradually give you the opportunity to take on these tasks independently.
