Apprentice in Wholesale and Foreign Trade Management

Three-year apprenticeship in wholesale and foreign trade management at Selgros. You will learn about different departments and business processes, including product range planning, customer advice and organisation.

• Maintain the product range: keep goods available and correctly displayed, and check stock, prices and labels.
• Receive goods: accept deliveries, check quantities and quality, enter goods into the system and store them correctly.
• Provide customer services: advise customers, answer questions, help with complaints and exchanges, and find suitable solutions.
• Plan stock: order goods to meet demand, ensuring sufficient availability without excess stock.
• Analyse business figures: review sales revenue, sales volumes and stock levels, and use the results to identify improvements and make ordering decisions.
• Manage warehouse and logistics processes: organise goods flow and storage, including picking, packing and stocktaking, while maintaining order and safety.

• A Hauptschule or Realschule school leaving certificate.
• Interest in trade and products: enjoy working with goods, product ranges and trends.
• Customer focus and communication skills: friendly, helpful and able to explain things clearly and listen well.
• Reliability and responsibility: keep agreements and work carefully, for example at the checkout, when receiving goods and when placing orders.
• Organisational skills: able to prioritise tasks such as putting goods away, reordering and serving customers.
• Understanding of numbers: for price and quantity calculations and basic business figures.
• Comfort with IT: willing to use inventory systems, scanners and digital processes.
• Physical stamina and flexibility: stay calm under pressure and be willing to work varying hours and Saturdays.
• Initiative and willingness to learn: get involved, ask questions, accept feedback and keep improving.
