Dual Study Program in Computer Science

Over the course of the 4-year dual study program, you'll complete your studies parallel to practical training. During the first year, the focus is on training and getting to know the company. Then you begin your studies at Paderborn University. After 2.5 years, your practical training is complete and you can focus fully on your studies. During semester breaks and lecture-free days, you'll be deployed in our specialist departments. We consider your individual interests and strengths when selecting deployment areas to optimally prepare you for your future career. In your studies, you'll engage with various software techniques and information systems, data structures and algorithms, and various areas of mathematics. A software internship and academic work are also included. Potential deployment areas include product and technology development (focus on software development), factory automation and digitalization, and central IT areas around digitalization and cyber security.

Over the 4-year dual study program, you complete studies parallel to practical training. Year 1 focuses on training and company orientation. Then studies begin at Paderborn University. After 2.5 years, practical training ends and you focus fully on studies. During semester breaks, you work in specialist departments. Study content: software techniques, information systems, data structures, algorithms, mathematics. Software internship and academic work. Deployment in product/technology development (software focus), factory automation/digitalization, central IT (digitalization, cyber security).

(Business) Abitur or technical college entrance qualification with a good to very good grade average; Interest in technical challenges and Weidmüller's product world; IT affinity and interest in software and programming; Ideally first internship experience in software; Performance-oriented, goal-driven, and team-oriented
