Satellite Operations Training and Simulation Instructor

Airbus Defence and Space is seeking a Satellite Operations Training and Simulation Instructor for Mission Operations in Ottobrunn. The department works on IT infrastructure, secure communications networks, satellite and ground station operations, and servicing satellites in orbit. This international environment offers varied responsibilities and development opportunities.

• Create and deliver training for operations staff, including flight and ground station operations, ground systems and anomaly management
• Ensure operations staff are ready to carry out mission operations
• Develop the training concept and training plan
• Manage and develop training documentation
• Regularly run simulations to give internal and external teams practical training in routine operations, special operations and emergency management
• Develop and carry out the certification process for internal and external participants
• Support, maintain and control the configuration of satellite simulators
• Support the validation and improvement of flight and ground procedures and the satellite control system, including mission control, automation, mission planning and flight dynamics

• Completed degree in aerospace engineering, electrical engineering, physics or a comparable subject
• At least five years of professional experience in training or satellite operations
• Very good knowledge of training standards, such as ECSS
• Very good knowledge of satellite systems, such as AOCS, OBDH, TTC, payload, power and thermal systems
• Very good presentation and organisational skills
• Experience with satellite simulators or satellite operations
• Willingness to travel occasionally for work
• Ability to work well in a team
• Eligibility for an extended security check under the German Security Clearance Act
• Very good spoken and written communication skills in German and English
