Dual Study Program in Social Work 2027 - Integration Assistance for People with Mental Illness

From 01.09.2027, ViaNobis (Alexianer) offers several practice placements for the dual study program in Social Work in its integration assistance for people with mental illness at locations in the regions of Aachen, Städteregion Aachen, Heinsberg district, Mönchengladbach, Viersen and Krefeld. You complete the theory part at a partner university (Fliedner Fachhochschule Düsseldorf, FOM Aachen, Hochschule Niederrhein, katho Aachen or IU). The practice phase takes place in assisted outpatient living or special living arrangements.

• In your studies you learn important theories of social work and gain insights into psychology, ethics and law
• Assisted outpatient living: supporting people with mental illness in daily life so they can live independently in their own home
• Special living arrangement: residential housing for adults with mental illness who need intensive, individual care for complex support needs

• General university entrance qualification, university of applied sciences entrance qualification, or an equivalent recognized university entrance qualification
• Depending on the university, a pre-internship: Fliedner: 6 weeks
• katho Aachen: 3 months
• FOM, HSNR, IU: no pre-internship needed
• Alternatively a voluntary social year or a one-year internship in a field of social work
• Class B driver's license and own car
