Chaplain

Augustahospital Anholt is a specialist neurological clinic focusing on multiple sclerosis, Parkinson's disease and early neurological rehabilitation. As part of the Alexianer, it wants to fill its hospital chaplaincy position. They are looking for a chaplain working 15–18 hours per week.

• Pastoral support for patients, relatives and staff in everyday life and in existential borderline situations
• Helping with training on medical-ethical and religious topics, discussion groups and liturgical offerings as part of pastoral care
• Creating spaces for conversation and reflection on questions of meaning, guilt, hope and faith
• Taking part in ethical case discussions and in clinical ethics discourse
• Working with nursing staff, doctors and other professional groups in the multiprofessional team
• Organizing services, rituals and spiritual offerings, and giving ideas for developing Christian identity in everyday clinic life
• An episcopal commission is being sought.

• Completed degree in theology, religious education or a comparable qualification (completed pastoral training), or willingness to obtain it
• Preferably clinical pastoral training (KSA) or a comparable qualification
• Willingness to communicate and empathy when dealing with patients, including their relatives
• Ability to hold professional conversations in stressful and complex situations
• Sensitivity to religious and ideological diversity
• Teamwork skills and the ability to contribute to organizational processes
• Willingness to actively help shape the Christian character of the institution and to be able to put it into words
• Interest in medical-ethical questions and in helping shape pastoral care
