Nursing Competence Center (1 Year)

A one-year, low-threshold entry program within Care for Integration for people interested in nursing who face barriers to vocational training, especially people with a refugee background. It facilitates entry into nursing training, and participants may join after the course has started.

Theoretical nursing instruction including qualification as a care assistant under Section 53b SGB XI; job-specific German instruction from A2 to B1; preparation for the Grade 9 lower secondary school examination; initial practical placements in nursing facilities and/or outpatient services.

Health and physical suitability for employment in nursing; sufficient language skills at approximately A2 level, with no certificate required; approximately nine years of schooling are desirable, but certificates are not required; empathy, enjoyment of working with people, interest in nursing, medical and social tasks, and teamwork.

Opportunity to obtain a lower secondary school leaving certificate and qualify as a care assistant; subsequent opportunity to continue with assistant or helper training in nursing; financial support from the Employment Agency or Jobcenter may be available.
