Dual Study Programme in Civil Engineering with Apprenticeship 2027

From 15 August 2027, DB InfraGO AG in Erfurt is looking for dual students for the 4.5-year dual study programme leading to a Bachelor of Engineering in Civil Engineering with an integrated apprenticeship as a track construction worker (m/f/d). The theory phases take place at Magdeburg-Stendal University. The practical part takes place at DB InfraGO AG in Erfurt, at the vocational school in Magdeburg and in the training workshop in Königsborn near Magdeburg. The selection process includes an aptitude examination.

• First a 1-month practical placement to get to know the company and your department
• Work alternately with the track construction crews and in the office
• Learn at the vocational school and training workshop and support colleagues on site
• In year 2, start your studies alongside the apprenticeship
• Apply your knowledge in the company during lecture-free periods
• In year 3, finish the apprenticeship as a track construction worker, and complete your studies with the bachelor thesis after 4.5 years
• Work in construction supervision, e.g. construction cost calculation, construction supervision and project management
• Get to know track construction tasks, e.g. inspection, maintenance and fault clearing of tracks and switches
• Take part on construction sites from surveying to quality control

• You have (soon) successfully completed your Abitur or have an equivalent vocational qualification (people with vocational qualifications must meet the enrolment requirements of FH Magdeburg)
• Your favourite subjects are maths and physics
• You enjoy teamwork and have natural manual skills
• You like varied tasks between office, planning and construction site with changing workplaces and working hours (including night shifts)
• Focused and independent work is a matter of course for you
