Care Competence Center (1 Year)

The Care Competence Center is a one-year, low-threshold introductory program within Care for Integration. It helps people interested in care, especially those with a refugee background, enter care training. The program includes theoretical care instruction, job-specific German lessons, practical placements and preparation for the lower secondary school-leaving examination.

Physical and medical fitness for work in care; sufficient language skills at approximately A2 level, with no certificate required; around nine years of schooling is desirable, but certificates are not required; empathy, enjoyment of working with people, interest in care, medical and social tasks, and teamwork skills.

Qualification as a care assistant under Section 53b of the German Social Code XI; preparation for and the opportunity to obtain a lower secondary school-leaving certificate; the opportunity to continue with assistant or helper training in care; possible financial support from the employment agency or job center.
