Apprenticeship as Operating Theatre Assistant / OTA

We are looking for you for the apprenticeship as Operating Theatre Assistant / OTA (f/m/d) starting 1 October 2027 in cooperation with the Asklepios Education Centre Wiesbaden at the Kandel site.

• First we show you what is important in handling the instruments and technical equipment in an operating theatre.
• Then your place is in the OR alongside the surgeons: you hand them the right surgical instruments at the right moment.
• You always keep an eye on the patient and we teach you how to react correctly in case of complications or emergencies.

• At least a secondary school diploma (Realschulabschluss)
• Alternatively: a lower secondary school diploma (Hauptschulabschluss) plus a successfully completed two-year vocational training or a successfully completed one-year nursing assistant training
• A certificate of medical fitness (obtained from your GP)
• Good empathy and sense of responsibility
• Reliability and high willingness to communicate
• Interest in medicine
• You stay calm – especially in emergency and stress situations
