About this Apprenticeship
The apprenticeship for road maintenance workers is varied and diverse. For example, you inspect roadways, guardrails and bridges for damage, repair and asphalt them. You also take care of green space maintenance and ensure clear roads on our motorways in winter. Motorway without a driving licence? Not with us! That's why we pay for your driving licence classes B (car), C and CE (truck with trailer) during your apprenticeship.
What You'll Learn

Requirements
- Willingness to learn, commit and perform
- Reliability, teamwork and initiative
- Manual dexterity and technical understanding
- At least lower secondary school leaving certificate or equivalent vocational training maturity
- At least satisfactory grades in German, Mathematics and Physics/Technology or Natural Sciences
- Physical resilience for driving vehicles and for physical work outdoors in all seasons
What Die Autobahn GmbH des Bundes offers
- You are part of the team from day one. Our trainers support you as partners, which is why we also guarantee you a permanent position (according to TV-Nachwuchskräfte Autobahn).
- You receive good apprenticeship pay according to our in-house collective agreement: 1st year: 1,418.26 Euro / 2nd year: 1,468.20 Euro / 3rd year: 1,514.02 Euro, plus an annual special payment and a completion bonus.
- You get 30 + 1 days annual leave and paid leave for exam preparation.
- We pay for your driving licences classes B (car), C and CE (truck with trailer) after the probationary period.
- We also pay for all learning and training materials.
- You also receive your smart orange work clothing from us and we even take care of the free laundry service for you.
