Apprenticeship as Biology Laboratory Technician – Start 2027

Biology fascinates you and you want to make it your career? Work with our researchers to gain new insights and carry out experiments in basic research, crop protection and diagnostics. You also learn to plan and carry out toxicological studies on animals in line with the Animal Welfare Act. The training takes place in cooperation with BBS Naturwissenschaft in Ludwigshafen. Applications open from mid-April 2026, and there is no deadline as long as places are available.

• Planning and carrying out experiments in molecular biology, microbiology, biochemistry, biotechnology, crop protection and many other scientific fields
• Planning and carrying out toxicological studies on animals in line with the relevant legislation
• Examining biological materials with modern analysis equipment
• Documenting and statistically evaluating test results
• Applying German- and English-language regulations

• At least a good intermediate school certificate (Mittlere Reife)
• Interest in biology, chemistry and maths, and enjoyment of examining, observing, measuring and documenting
• Reliable colour vision and no allergies to animal and plant components or dust
• Willingness to carry out animal experiments in compliance with the Animal Welfare Act
• Sense of responsibility, accuracy and care at work
• Good English skills
