Finance Business Partner, Life Science Business Unit

As Finance Business Partner, you support the developing Life Science business unit as a strategic advisor on financial matters. You provide a clear picture of business performance, analyse key figures and work with the international team to develop measures that help achieve company goals.

• Act as a sounding board and financial advisor to the global Life Science business unit team.
• Analyse, prepare and comment on the business unit's financial performance indicators, including revenue, gross margin, cost structure, profitability and working capital.
• Proactively support the business unit team in developing, assessing and implementing strategic and operational measures to achieve lasting improvements in results and maximise profitability.
• Manage and monitor relevant cost centres, profit centres and projects within the business unit, including variance analyses and specific recommendations for action.
• Contribute to budgeting, forecasting and medium term planning, and translate business strategies and growth initiatives into financial targets and indicators.
• Prepare, assess and track business cases for product development, investments, innovation projects and strategic growth initiatives.
• Support portfolio, product and customer profitability analyses to improve resource allocation and business performance.
• Contribute to and lead projects or workstreams across departments that improve profitability, efficiency and transparency.
• Develop and standardise key performance indicators and management reporting and control tools, such as dashboards, performance reviews and management reports.
• Work closely with international subsidiaries and product management, sales, operations and research and development to ensure transparent and consistent management of the business unit.

• Completed degree in business administration with a focus on management accounting or finance, or an equivalent qualification
• Several years of professional experience in management accounting, finance or business partnering, preferably at an international industrial or technology company
• Strong understanding of business relationships, value drivers and business models, ideally in life sciences, medical technology or high tech industry
• Confident use of SAP, particularly FI/CO, and very good MS Office skills, especially Excel; experience with business intelligence and reporting tools such as Power BI, SAC or similar is an advantage
• Strong interest in key figures, performance management and decisions based on data
• Strong ability to explain and present complex financial matters clearly for different audiences and actively help shape decisions
• Strong analytical thinking, a structured approach, a clear focus on solutions and a forward looking perspective
• A high level of initiative, independence and responsibility, and enjoyment of working with international stakeholders at management level
• Strong spoken and written communication skills in German and English, combined with assertiveness
