Process Developer Microoptics

ZEISS Microoptics, a unit of the Photonics & Optics business group, specializes in developing, optimizing, replicating and integrating optical applications based on micro-optical and holographic optical elements. In the new Aerospace business group, you develop optical systems for aviation, such as head-up displays and transparent cabin displays.

• Contribute to development projects in micro-optics with a focus on microstructure replication and lithographic processes
• Production and validation of diffraction gratings
• Perform various measurement tasks and evaluate them, including atomic force and light microscopy, scattered light, diffraction efficiency and wavefront measurement
• Maintenance, testing and qualification of laboratory and measuring equipment
• Close collaboration on qualifying metrology for validating the micro-optical products, including long-term stability tests
• Development of manufacturing processes and transfer to series production
• Development, setup and organization of cleanroom structures and processes with a main focus on series-ready production

• Completed degree in a natural science or engineering discipline
• Several years of professional experience in microstructuring, (micro-)optics and optical metrology
• Willingness to learn and desire to keep developing
• Structured, independent, quality-conscious and solution-oriented way of working in a familial team
• Meticulousness and sensitivity combined with a pragmatic approach
• Enjoyment and experience of working in a cleanroom environment
• Software skills: MS Office, ideally Matlab / Python or similar
• Good German and English skills, spoken and written
