About this Apprenticeship
DACHSER is hiring a local transport dispatcher for a permanent, full-time position. The role involves planning and managing local transport and coordinating with customers, drivers and internal departments.
What You'll Learn
- Plan local transport routes while considering costs, customer requirements and legal rules
- Schedule drivers and vehicles for local transport
- Monitor and manage transport operations and ensure deliveries and collections happen on time
- Communicate with customers, drivers and internal departments to coordinate and resolve transport requests
- Create and maintain route plans, freight documents and transport orders
- Monitor and improve vehicle and route capacity use
- Handle complaints and support quality assurance
Requirements
- Completed vocational training in freight forwarding and logistics services, or a comparable qualification
- Experience in transport dispatching, ideally in local transport
- Good geographical knowledge and strong organisational skills
- Good spoken and written German; other languages are an advantage
- Strong communication skills, assertiveness and teamwork
- Ability to handle pressure and remain flexible, including in stressful situations
