About this Apprenticeship
DACHSER is looking for a customs clearance specialist in air and sea freight in Frankfurt (Frankfurt branch, Air & Sea Logistics). Full-time, permanent.
What You'll Learn
- Independent handling of import and export customs clearance, taking legal, customs law and company regulations into account
- Preparing customs declarations and accompanying documents in compliance with applicable customs regulations for import, export and transit procedures
- Checking customs-relevant documents (e.g. commercial invoices, proof of preference, goods descriptions)
- Communication and correspondence with customers, customs authorities and internal departments
- Checking customs tariff numbers
- Monitoring and complying with customs deadlines and requirements
- Maintaining and managing customs-relevant data and documentation in the system
- Support with customs audits, reviews and internal controls
Requirements
- Completed vocational training, ideally as a freight forwarding and logistics services clerk (m/f/d), foreign trade clerk or comparable qualification
- Further training as a customs declarant (m/f/d), customs specialist (m/f/d) or comparable further training in foreign trade / customs
- Relevant professional experience in customs clearance (import/export)
- Sound knowledge of the relevant customs regulations, especially under the Union Customs Code
- Experience with electronic customs systems and customs clearance software (e.g. ATLAS or comparable systems)
- Good knowledge of customs tariff classification and goods classification
- Fluent German skills and good English skills, spoken and written
- Structured, careful and independent way of working and strong teamwork skills
