About this Apprenticeship
Track builder apprenticeship at DB InfraGO AG in Uelzen starting on 1 September 2027. Work with your team to build and renew tracks and points, check for damage and help keep trains running safely and reliably.
What You'll Learn
- You work with your team outdoors on construction sites along our tracks
- Together, you lay new rails and points, check everything for damage and replace broken parts
- You use modern machines to renew the ballast beneath the tracks
- You carefully check that all measurements are correct so trains can run smoothly and safely
- During your track builder apprenticeship, you are already an important part of the team and help keep our trains running reliably every day
Requirements
- You have successfully finished school or will do so soon, and your school qualification is recognised in Germany
- Your German is at least at B2 level
- Sitting at a desk is not for you; you prefer working outdoors
- You are motivated and reliable
- You enjoy teamwork and getting involved in practical work
- You welcome the variety of different work locations, working hours and night shifts
What Deutsche Bahn AG offers
- You receive a mobile device that you can use for learning and privately to support your apprenticeship.
- You receive 16 free journeys within Germany each year and further travel discounts, such as the DB Job-Ticket for your daily commute. Discounted travel options are also available for family and friends travelling with you.
- If commuting from your previous home takes more than 2.5 hours each day and you rent a home closer to work, you receive a rent subsidy of up to €400 per month.
- After successfully completing your apprenticeship, you receive an offer to stay with DB.
- Depending on your training year, you receive between €1,324 and €1,531 per month, plus Christmas pay. These pay amounts apply from 1 July 2026. The employment terms apply to the vast majority of apprentices in the DB Group.
- DB Youngster Community: Enjoy workshops, events, community trips and more with other apprentices and dual study students.
- Up to €3,500 towards obtaining your driving licence during your apprenticeship, helping you travel for work and privately. Details at db.jobs/fuehrerschein.
