What Deutsche Bahn AG offers

• You work outdoors with your team at railway track construction sites
• Together, you lay new rails and points, check for damage and replace broken parts
• You use modern machinery to replace the ballast beneath the tracks
• You carefully check all measurements so trains can run smoothly and safely
• During your apprenticeship, you are an important team member and help trains run reliably every day
• A mobile device for learning and private use
• 16 free journeys within Germany each year, further travel discounts such as the DB Job-Ticket for commuting, and reduced fares for accompanying family and friends
• A rent subsidy of up to €400 per month if your daily commute would otherwise exceed 2.5 hours and you rent a home closer to work
• A job offer after successful completion
• Between €1,324 and €1,531 per month depending on the training year, plus a Christmas payment; pay rates valid from 1 July 2026, with employment terms applying to the vast majority of DB Group apprentices
• DB Youngster Community with workshops, events, community trips and other activities for apprentices and dual students
• Up to €3,500 towards obtaining your car driving licence during vocational training
• A dedicated contact person and a great team by your side
