You work with your team outdoors on construction sites on our tracks, lay new rails and switches, inspect and replace parts, renew the ballast, and ensure precise measurements for safe train operation.

You work with your team outdoors on construction sites on our tracks. Together you lay new rails and switches, inspect everything for damage and replace defective parts. Using modern machines you renew the ballast under the tracks. You ensure that all measurements are accurate so that trains run smoothly and safely later. During your apprenticeship as a track layer you are already an important part of the team and ensure every day that our trains run reliably.

You have successfully completed (or will soon complete) school and your school diploma is recognized in Germany. Your German language skills are at least level B2. Desk work is not for you – you prefer working outdoors. You are motivated and reliable. You enjoy teamwork and like to pitch in. Different work locations, working hours, and night shifts are a welcome change for you.

For the success of your apprenticeship we provide the best conditions: you receive a mobile device from us that you can use for learning and privately. In addition, there are affordable travel options for family and friends. We support you in settling into your new city! If you have to commute more than 2.5 hours daily from your previous residence and rent a closer apartment, you receive a rent subsidy of up to 400 € per month.
