Apprenticeship Track Layer 2027

We are Deutsche Bahn. Millions of passengers travel with us every day and we transport enormous quantities of goods – nationwide and in neighboring Europe. You want to work outdoors instead of sitting inside and are fascinated by trains and technology – then the apprenticeship in track construction is just right for you! Starting 01.09.2027 we are looking for you for the 3-year apprenticeship as a track layer (f/m/d) for DB InfraGO AG in Rostock. The vocational school and the training workshop are located in Hamburg. During your apprenticeship as a track layer / civil engineering specialist you are already an important part of the team and ensure every day that our trains run reliably.

You work with your team outdoors on construction sites on our tracks. Together you lay new rails and switches, inspect everything for damage and replace defective parts. With the help of modern machines you renew the ballast under the tracks. You pay close attention that all measurements are correct – so that the trains later run smoothly and safely.

You have successfully completed (or will soon complete) school and your school qualification is recognized in Germany. Your German language skills correspond to at least level B2. Sitting at a desk is not for you – you prefer to work outdoors. You are motivated and reliable. You enjoy teamwork and like to pitch in. Different work locations and working hours as well as night shifts are a welcome change for you. As part of the selection process for this apprenticeship you will undergo an aptitude test.
