Apprenticeship Track Builder on the Rail Network 2027

We are looking for you for the 3-year apprenticeship as a track builder (f/m/d) for DB InfraGO AG at the Riesa site, starting 15 August 2027. The vocational school is in Magdeburg, and the training workshop or qualification centre is in Königsborn (near Magdeburg). For the first two years we fund your accommodation in Magdeburg (if certain conditions are met). The selection process includes an aptitude examination.

• You work with your team outdoors on construction sites on our tracks
• Together you lay new rails and switches, check everything for damage and replace broken parts
• With the help of modern machines you renew the ballast under the tracks
• You make sure all measurements are exact so that trains later run smoothly and safely
• During your training as a track builder you are already an important part of the team and help keep our trains running reliably every day

• You have (soon) successfully finished school and your school qualification is recognized in Germany
• Your German is at least B2 level (for applicants with B1 we offer an online B2 language course before training starts)
• Sitting at a desk is not for you – you would rather work outdoors
• You are motivated and reliable
• You enjoy teamwork and like to get stuck in
• Different workplaces and working hours as well as night shifts are a welcome change for you
