Apprenticeship Train Driver in Regional Transport 2027

From 1 September 2027, DB Regio AG at the Aulendorf location is looking for trainees for the 3-year apprenticeship as a train driver (railway operations specialist, train driver and transport) (w/m/d). The vocational school is the Friedrich-Ebert-Schule in Esslingen-Zell, near Stuttgart. The selection process includes an aptitude examination.

• You start with the basics: learn what signals mean, how a train works and what it takes for regional transport to run safely
• You train in the simulator and later in the real driver's cab, always with trainers at your side
• Prepare regional trains, assemble them for journeys and carry out technical checks
• You learn the rules for safe rail traffic and practise staying calm in special situations and making decisions
• When operations change, you inform customers clearly and competently

• You have (soon) successfully finished school and your school certificate is recognised in Germany
• Your German is at least level B2
• You find technology exciting and like understanding how things work
• You stay calm when it matters, can take responsibility and make decisions, and are reliable
• Working weekends and public holidays is fine for you
