Apprenticeship Train Driver in Regional Transport 2027

Tracks, stations, landscapes – and people who rely on you to get them safely to their destination – to work, to concerts, home. That is regional transport: close to customers, indispensable, and you're right in the middle – as a train driver. Starting 1 September 2027 we are looking for you for the 3-year apprenticeship as a train driver (railway operator in operational service train driver and transport) (f/m/d) at DB Regio AG in Nuremberg. The vocational school is also in Nuremberg.

• You start with the basics: learn what signals mean, how a train works and what it takes to keep regional transport running safely
• Then it gets practical: you train in the simulator and later in the real driver's cab – always with instructors by your side
• Technology is not neglected either: we also teach you how to prepare regional trains, assemble them for trips and carry out technical checks
• Safety and responsibility are paramount: you learn the rules for safe rail transport, practice staying calm in special situations and making decisions
• At all times you keep your passengers in view: should operational changes occur, you inform your customers clearly and competently
• Whether childhood dream or newly discovered perspective: at some point comes the moment when you realize fascination has become responsibility – and you have become a train driver

• You have successfully completed (or will soon complete) school and your school qualification is recognized in Germany
• Your German corresponds to at least language level B2
• You find technology exciting and like to understand how things work
• You stay calm when it matters, can take responsibility and make decisions, and are reliable
• Working on weekends and public holidays is fine with you
