Apprenticeship Train Traffic Controller 2027

From 1 September 2027, DB InfraGO AG is looking for trainees at its Finnentrop site for the 2.5-year apprenticeship as a railway operator in train traffic control (f/m/d). The vocational school is in Hagen. You work in a signal box, watch trains on screens or boards and influence their journey with buttons, keys and levers by setting signals and switches. You are in constant contact with the train drivers. The selection process includes an aptitude examination.

• Your colleagues show you step by step how to operate the technology in a signal box correctly
• You learn when to press the right keys and buttons, for example to switch signals (traffic lights) or switches (crossovers for changing tracks)
• You are often in contact with other staff in train traffic control and control centres as well as the train drivers
• You are an important part of our team and enable our passengers to travel safely and on time on our trains

• You have (soon) successfully finished school with the mittlere Reife or higher, and your school certificate is recognised in Germany
• Your German skills are at least at B2 level
• You stay calm and keep an overview even in demanding situations
• You gladly take on responsibility and work with focus
• You are a team player and reliable
• You are willing to work in shifts
