About this Apprenticeship
The Systems House Technology supports the institutes and facilities of DLR for all technical questions regarding scientific test objects from consulting through development and manufacturing to assembly in the test facility. During your apprenticeship as a precision mechanic, you will be trained in the production of components, assemblies, and test equipment from various materials, predominantly metal. The apprenticeship teaches you knowledge and skills on cutting machine tools (e.g., turning and milling), various joining techniques, and the selection and use of required test methods and equipment. Another important focus of the apprenticeship is the use of computer-controlled machine tools and the deployment of pneumatically or electro-pneumatically controlled production equipment. The acquisition of basic knowledge about preventive maintenance, maintenance of machine tools, and the teaching of knowledge in plastics processing round off the apprenticeship spectrum.
