About this Apprenticeship
You make a difference in one of our more than 2,000 dm stores. Our retail cashiers turn the moment of payment into a pleasant end to the shopping experience. Your working times are agreed with your dm store across different shifts (morning, midday, evening) from Monday to Saturday. Part-time (10 hrs/week), fixed-term, from now until 31.10.2027.
What You'll Learn
- Checkout: At the till you come into contact with our customers, ensure a smooth end to their purchases and a good feeling at the end of their dm visit.
- Customer focus: With your openness and helpfulness you make shopping at dm a nice experience until goodbye.
- Promoting offers: You enjoy meeting customers at the checkout and getting them excited about promotions.
- Advising: With expertise and a smile you are there for our customers and leave none of their questions open.
- Passport photo service: You take passport photos for ID documents and more according to biometric requirements.
Requirements
- Service mindset: With your empathy, commitment and joy in meeting people, you help us create the typical dm feel-good atmosphere.
- Skills: You handle cash confidently and have an excellent command of the German language.
- Training and work experience: Your training is already behind you. Whatever field you come from, we are happy to have you as a career changer too.
- eID activation for passport photo service: To transmit passport photos digitally to the citizens' offices for our passport photo service in our stores, you need the eID activated on your ID document.
- Team spirit and motivation: To keep everyday life in the dm store running smoothly, you pitch in as part of the team and agree working hours together. When things get stressful, your calm can be relied on.
- Flexibility: You actively take part in staff scheduling to align your working hours as well as possible with the store's opening hours.
- Activity: Work in the dm store is sometimes demanding. Your resilience and stamina help you with this.
