Electrical Design Engineer, Machine Tools

Development and design of the electrical systems of machine tools at DMG MORI, a world-leading manufacturer of high-precision machine tools with around 13,500 employees.

• Complete development and design of the electrical systems of our machine tools
• Electrical design of additional units in the machine periphery
• Independent creation of electrical plans, circuit diagrams and connection diagrams in ELCAD and EPLAN
• Standardization and specification of interfaces and systems
• Self-directed development of customer-specific special solutions
• Support of prototypes and series production, and carrying out commissioning
• Close cooperation with and support of internal departments
• Design handling and coordination of individual projects

• Successfully completed degree in electrical engineering, computer science, mechatronics or a comparable qualification with a technical focus
• Relevant professional experience at a machine tool company, plus basic knowledge of machining, machine dynamics and drive control
• Very good knowledge of the CAD systems ELCAD and EPLAN together with PDM systems
• Very good knowledge of electric motors, the design of electronic components and wiring, and machine safety, especially the CE Machinery Directive
• Proficient use of MS Office and good written and spoken English
• Ability to independently structure complex matters toward defined, project-like goals
• Independent, systematic and goal-oriented way of working, as well as teamwork and motivation
