You learn how to prepare meat attractively, stock the counter, sell, handle and prepare products successfully, and ensure their quality. The apprenticeship usually lasts three years and may be shortened under certain conditions.

You advise customers about cuts of meat, meat products, sausages, cheese and fresh-counter items. You maintain, check and present products. You learn how to process meat correctly. You learn hygiene regulations and keep the sales counter neat and clean. You prepare platter services and contribute your own creations for platter, gift and finger-food services.
