Apprenticeship as Retail Merchant - 2027

Your apprenticeship lasts three years. After passing the exam, you will be a certified retail merchant with the additional qualification as a certified fresh food specialist (IHK). In addition to vocational school, you will attend seminars and receive thorough exam preparation, which only EDEKA offers in this form, providing you with practical knowledge. The seminars cover not only exam-relevant commercial topics but also deeper product knowledge.

You will learn the processes from goods ordering through goods receipt to product presentation; You will contribute your own creations; You will become an important advisor for our customers and gain in-depth knowledge of merchandise management and retail business processes with a special focus on fresh food sectors; You will complete an additional training as a fresh food specialist (m/f/d) with 21 practical seminar days in our Fresh Food Academy – for well-founded expertise in quality and freshness!
