Training as an Industrial Mechanic

The training covers the manufacture, commissioning, maintenance, and repair of power, production, and machine tools. You will work in one-off and small-batch assembly as well as maintenance, rotate through different specialist departments, and attend the Georg Schlesinger technical vocational school. The training lasts 3.5 years and can be shortened to 3 years with suitable performance.

• Manufacture, commission, maintain, and repair machines and production equipment
• Work in one-off and small-batch assembly as well as maintenance
• Work independently and as part of a team in workshops
• Understand how different machine elements work together and their functions
• Work independently at changing or fixed assembly stations
• Assemble, maintain, and repair machines, equipment, and production systems, and work in quality control
• Follow relevant regulations, safety requirements, documents, and instructions

• At least a successfully completed lower secondary school certificate
• Technical understanding and interest
• Solid basic knowledge of mathematics and physics
• Good German language skills and basic English knowledge
• Willingness to learn, openness, commitment, and teamwork
