Development Engineer Precision Optics at the Göttingen site

The Excelitas site in Göttingen is the competence center for developing and producing photonics solutions for the semiconductor equipment market. It supplies highly complex opto-mechanical modules, subsystems and components for lithography, wafer inspection, chip bonding and packaging, as well as optical and mechanical components up to complete optical systems.

• Technical assessment of individual customer requests on optical coatings and complex optical components
• Development, analysis and simulation of complex optical components for demanding optical systems and modules
• Design and optimisation of optical components
• Development of new manufacturing methods and processes in polishing, cleaning, coating, fine cementing and optical bonding

• Completed degree in optics, photonics, physics or a comparable field
• Several years of experience developing complex optical components
• Knowledge of processing optical glass and of cleaning, coating and bonding processes
• Experience with optical design and simulation tools (e.g. Zemax) and optical metrology
• Knowledge of specifying and evaluating optical performance characteristics
• Very good German and English skills
