Eurofighter Simulator Systems Engineer

GFD GmbH, an AIRBUS company, is seeking a systems engineer for Eurofighter simulators in Wittmund, starting on 1 November 2026. The workplace is the simulation and training centre at the NATO airfield in Wittmund.

• Ensure the daily operation of training simulators, including starting them up, carrying out pre-flight checks and setting training-specific parameters
• Analyse and diagnose faults with users and prepare fault reports
• Carry out pre-flight checks and set training-specific parameters

• Carry out repairs while meeting high quality standards
• Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on the simulators
• Modify and update databases
• Install simulator upgrade kits, including hardware and software
• Support the manufacturer in system development and integration
• Exercise decision-making and planning authority within assigned tasks
• Maintain direct contact with the customer as directed by project management
• Act as the link between the engineering team and civilian and military flight instructors in the units
• Take responsibility for continually improving and optimising relevant processes

• An engineer or experienced technician in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Aerospace Engineering or a similar qualification. Alternatively, knowledge gained through relevant professional experience
• Extensive experience in maintaining and repairing complex, networked systems
• In-depth knowledge of modern operating systems, networks, computer hardware and system administration
• Basic computer programming skills
• Very good spoken and written English
• Experience in maintaining and operating modern training simulators and basic knowledge of aerodynamics, aircraft systems and standard aviation procedures are advantageous
• Awareness of potential compliance risks and a commitment to act with integrity
