On the commercial side, this includes the sale of products and services, advising and supporting customers, marketing activities, scheduling, and the procurement of materials and production resources. Business management fields include financing, investments, profitability, cost planning and analysis, as well as personnel recruitment and administration. As an apprentice, you move through the various departments in a structured plan, gaining intensive knowledge of the entire structures and work processes within the company. In the 1st and 2nd apprenticeship years you rotate through about 20 different departments. In the 3rd year you remain predominantly in a field chosen according to your individual interests. Throughout the entire time you attend vocational school 1-2 times per week at the Bergisches Berufskolleg in Wermelskirchen.
