Working Student Server Administration & AI Infrastructure

For the "Embedded Systems and Artificial Intelligence" team we are looking for a committed working student (f/m/d) for server administration and AI infrastructure at the Fürstenfeldbruck site. We develop innovative solution approaches for a wide variety of problems – from concept studies to prototype software. Our work includes the development of AI models and AI applications, embedded hardware and software prototypes, certification support for multi-core systems in aviation, and the design and testing of safe and trustworthy AI applications in close coordination with internal and external partners.

• Support in managing environment and infrastructure, including containerization, orchestration and dependency management with Docker, Podman and Kubernetes
• Contribution to expanding the GitOps environment (Argo CD, Helm) for reproducible, versioned deployments and assistance with installations and upgrades of software tools as needed (Kubernetes, Proxmox, ClearML, Coder)
• Support of CI/CD processes by assisting in expanding and maintaining the Jenkins server for automated builds, tests and deployments
• Participation in monitoring and logging, especially expanding and maintaining the monitoring stack (Prometheus, Grafana) and log management (Loki, Alloy)
• Assistance in the AI platform area, including hosting AI models, automating model training (e.g. via ClearML) and configuring RAG applications (e.g. via OpenWebUI)
• Support in security and operations, such as user management (OIDC), access monitoring, cybersecurity according to BSI basic protection, and backup and recovery concepts including regular testing
• Creation of documentation for installation, configuration and infrastructure as code (Git-based)
• Support and assistance for colleagues in daily use of AI tools

• Enrolled student (f/m/d) of computer science or a comparable degree program
• Good Linux skills and willingness to familiarize yourself with a complex tool landscape
• Strong team spirit and helpfulness
• Initial knowledge of Kubernetes and basic knowledge of network administration
• Experience with Docker or containerization, CI/CD (e.g. Jenkins) and version control with Git
• Interest in AI infrastructure topics such as RAG, Open WebUI or model hosting
• Initial practical experience in monitoring and logging (e.g. Prometheus, Grafana, Loki)
• Very good German and English skills, both written and spoken
