Student Assistant for the LVR Archaeological Park Xanten with Roman Museum

As a student assistant, you support the team of the LVR Archaeological Park Xanten with Roman Museum in cataloguing and maintaining archaeological documentation holdings, gaining insight into scientific work and handling historical sources and materials. Fixed term of 2 years, part-time.

• Transcribing historical documents: you transcribe handwritten scientific diaries.
• Helping in the document archives: you assist with reviewing, sorting and maintaining analog and digital excavation, photo and plan archives.
• Recording and digitizing holdings: you create inventory lists and help with scanning.

• Enrollment in history studies, preferably with a focus on archaeology
• You have good IT skills in MS Office.
• You are familiar with building and maintaining databases, and you work carefully and in a structured way when recording and managing information.
• You have good written and spoken German skills, enabling reliable processing and transcription of historical documents and careful recording and documentation of archive holdings.
• You stand out through teamwork and a cooperative, communicative manner, contributing to good collaboration.
• You are reliable and conscientious, especially when processing and sorting documents and archive materials.
• Your flexibility lets you adapt to changing tasks and requirements and actively support the team of the LVR Archaeological Park Xanten with Roman Museum.
