About this Apprenticeship

The trauma-pedagogical external residential group of LVR Youth Welfare Rhineland Tönisvorst admits six girls and boys aged six to thirteen who have had traumatic experiences and consequently show behavioral problems. The focus of your work is the resource-oriented promotion and support of the children to process traumatic experiences and develop new coping strategies. The goal of creative therapeutic work is to help the children with emotional stabilization through a safe and reliable relationship offer. You have a spacious room available where you can work creatively with individual children but also in small groups with different materials. The selection of materials can be co-designed by you.

What You'll Learn

Multiprofessional cooperation with the team and the department head
Individual therapeutic and group therapeutic treatment, both for the children of the trauma group as well as cross-group outpatient offers
Processing of traumatic experiences with creative methods
Stabilization and resource expansion of clients
Development of action alternatives and their transfer into everyday life
Independent coordination of appointments
Independent documentation of therapy progress
Preparation of reports for help planning
Responsibility for rooms, materials and resources of the group
Active participation in team meetings of the trauma group

Requirements

You are a creative or art therapist.
You bring professional experience in working with traumatized children, are resilient and have a pronounced ability to reflect on your own behavior.
You have knowledge of the trauma-pedagogical basic concept and enjoy working with children, adolescents and young adults.
