Occupational Therapist for the LVR Christy Brown School in Duisburg - Focus on Physical and Motor Development

At the interdisciplinary therapy practice at the LVR Christy Brown School, you are part of a dedicated team of eleven therapists supporting students with high needs for intensive educational support. Through your therapeutic work, you actively help develop the students' abilities and improve their quality of life. Leave can only be taken during school holidays; additional time off during school holidays is compensated by extra work during school weeks.

• Carry out occupational therapy treatments for students, some with severe multiple disabilities, based on medical prescriptions
• Create progress documentation and prepare billing of therapy prescriptions
• Take part in counselling meetings on disability-specific problems with different professional groups
• Contribute to holistic care in close cooperation in a multiprofessional team with nursing and education
• Support the regular inspections of school buses and taxis of the student transport service

• A state-recognized training as an occupational therapist or a state-recognized bachelor's degree in occupational therapy
• Ideally additional paediatric qualifications
• Sensitivity when working with students with disabilities
• Interest in therapeutic care in paediatrics
• Familiarity with Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) and prior experience
• Enjoyment of teamwork, cooperative and communicative manner
• High flexibility and quick adaptation to changing conditions
• Independent and cooperative work in a multiprofessional team
• Proof of sufficient measles protection before signing the contract
