Assistant Category Manager - Meat

As Assistant Category Manager for meat at METRO in Düsseldorf, you manage product groups from a business perspective, shape assortments and negotiate with suppliers. You are the contact person for wholesale stores and industry partners.

• Day-to-day business: Business management of product groups as well as assortment design and optimization and handling of price baskets / price comparisons.
• Control: Preparing, conducting and documenting annual reviews and in-year negotiations with suppliers as well as identifying and implementing market trends.
• Responsibility: Carrying out tenders / eSourcing and responsibility for maintaining purchase and sales prices as well as supplier and item listings.
• Communication: Contact person for our wholesale stores and industry partners, deputizing for the Category Manager and visiting national and international trade fairs.
• Routine: Creating and evaluating statistics / analyses.

• Successfully completed degree with relevant work experience in retail.
• Strong affinity for goods and enthusiasm for one or more "food" product groups, ideally meat, as well as strong communication skills, combined with assertiveness and confident demeanor.
• Very good PC skills with MS Office and merchandise management systems.
• Negotiation-level German (C2) and good English (B1/B2).
• Strong organizational skills and high team ability, strategic and analytical competence, especially in market and competitor observation with a focused customer orientation.
