About this Apprenticeship
The job holder is responsible for scheduling the assigned products, components, and raw materials and for monitoring/demanding the actual delivery so that they are available in the right quantity and at the right time for subsequent processes and/or the customer. This requires: the ability to act conscientiously and with a view to the big picture within general guidelines; a high degree of communication with multiple interfaces (e.g., order management, production control, production, logistics, service providers, suppliers); the ability to understand complex processes (e.g., supplier manufacturing processes, purchasing/procurement parameters, bills of materials, customer orders), to identify errors there if necessary, and to make or propose appropriate corrections; coordinating multiple parallel processes (e.g., supply chains via service providers, direct deliveries to customers); flexibility to react to unexpected realities (e.g., delivery failures, quality problems, 'rash decisions'). Administratively, the following recurring tasks must be performed: Master data management – creation/maintenance of purchasing agreements and purchasing orders, article master data, EDI; material scheduling based on existing framework agreements with external suppliers and subsidiaries in Europe, America, and Asia, taking into account existing orders, stock levels, and production capacities. Communication 95% English, written and verbal. Order reconciliation with suppliers based on open purchase order lines in D365, taking into account goods in transit by sea/land/air and stocks/stock targets. Clearing of discrepancies by verifying posted goods receipts considering supplier delivery information. Deadline tracking of call-off orders and proactive delivery reminders for customer orders from industry & trade, export, and automotive sectors using the programs provided in D365, and where applicable analysis and further processing in MS Excel (especially overseas deliveries). Forwarding of deadlines via appropriate channels. Escalation management: escalation within the department and/or via purchasing in case of delivery difficulties. Arrangement of special transports/direct delivery by supplier in coordination with customer service/order management/production control.
