What You'll Learn
- Investigate the electrical and electrochemical-thermal behaviour of lithium-ion battery cells
- Develop and use battery cell models, including electrical equivalent circuit models and electrochemical-thermal models
- Set model parameters, analyse and validate models
- Automate the analysis of simulation results
- Interpret and assess simulation results
Requirements
- A place on an engineering degree in electrical engineering, mechatronics, chemical and process engineering, mechanical engineering, automotive engineering, aerospace engineering or physics (at least in your third semester or taking a gap year between a bachelor's and master's degree)
- Ideally, a completed bachelor's degree
- Basic knowledge of electrochemistry, thermodynamics, and heat and mass transfer
- Basic knowledge of equivalent circuits and networks used to describe lithium-ion battery cells
- A strong interest in lithium-ion batteries
- Basic knowledge of programming languages such as C/C++, Python and Matlab, and CAE tools such as COMSOL Multiphysics
- Enthusiasm and an independent, organised, thorough and analytical approach to work
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Very good German skills (at least B2)
- Complete application documents: cover letter, CV, employment references, school and university certificates, and any other relevant certificates
