System Engineer / Linux System Administrator

Become part of our team and actively shape the planning of the next supercomputer. As a System Engineer, you take technical responsibility for planning and implementing complex IT infrastructures with a focus on High Performance Computing (HPC and AI) & parallel file systems, using tomorrow's technologies. You accompany large projects from conception to commissioning and ensure that powerful computing environments go live smoothly at our customers. With your sound expertise in Linux systems and cluster technologies, you work closely with your project team to realize tailored solutions for demanding computing requirements. Each project brings varied and exciting tasks where you can contribute your ideas.

Advising the sales team in planning and quote preparation for IT projects; Detailed planning and implementation of IT systems (e.g., HPC and AI clusters, parallel file systems); Definition and compliance with requirement profiles; Optimization of existing infrastructures and regular updates; Creation of documentation for system configurations and installations; Training and support for administrators in using the provided systems; Identification and resolution of technical problems, e.g., system failures

Confident handling of Linux systems (e.g., RedHat, Ubuntu/Debian); Sound knowledge of network technology and server operating systems; Completed degree or comparable professional experience in computer science or system engineering; Own initiative and willingness for continuous further development; Knowledge in network configuration; Understanding of IT security concepts and their implementation; Team skills and communication strength; Very good German skills (at least B2, preferably C1) in word and writing; Good English skills (B1/B2) in word and writing; English skills in word and writing; Independent and structured work style; Strong analytical skills for identification and resolution of system and network problems as well as performance optimization in complex environments
